Home made lens, why it glows?

[h=2]Home made lens, why it glow?[/h][h=2][/h]I wonder why I can not get a relatively sharp image with no glow with this home made tilt shift lens.


I am using a Samyang 28mm f2.8 lens plus a plastic divergent lens in the back.


I used successfully this plastic divergent lens with a Fujinon 28mm f3.5 lens, getting sharp images with no « glow »


Do you have any idea about what can be generating the glow and the lack of sharpness?

PS bokeh is also quite big and extraneous with this lens

PS I have been studying the case and it seems to be just spherical aberration, I will try with a bigger f number and let you know.

Try "Resize" in just about any post software.

Oh, there's lots more than just SA going on there. Different lens designs, even of the same focal length and similar aperture will respond differently to the addition of a plain divergent single lens. In some ways, the 'better' a wide retrofocus lens is, the more you will mess it up.

Which is ironic, because his grammar and punctuation leave a lot to be desired. As for the OP, English is most likely his second language... which I'm certain he speaks much better than Keith does any other language. Typical bigot.

Holy Cow, that is some glow! Glad I could look and see what you are doing with your experimental project. You need to fix the second link, but the first one was enough of a shock! Good Luck.

Uneducated, unofficial, I'd guess you are getting some internal reflection between the lenses causing the flare.
