Resident handspinner stuff...
Another semi-smelly, clean but lanolin-retentive whole fleece just dropped by Fedex. Destined for a water-shedding gansey-style outdoor sweater. Nothing warmer or drier!

Sounds great. I'll take a dark blue-green women's medium, please. :icon_mrgreen: No rush.

Nope. Frau spins and knits. Sweaters only come in sheep colors. Exception is the occasional original hardcore Flamborough-style gansey, usually dark blue, rarely black. Not phony "fisherman" knit stuff. The 5-ply worsted yarn is Kevlar-tough. Working man's stuff. Most had patterns that ended just above the elbow which allowed new sleeves grafted in. Economy! Patterns were once so location-specific that drowned fishermen could be ID'd by their sweaters. True? Maybe. Good story, though.

Ah, okay. A hope is dashed. ;)

Totally know the type of real wool knit sweaters - got one from an Ireland outfit, general Guernsey style with water shedding wool, etc. It's man- size, thick, and he loves it and I routinely steal it. :1247:

Will show him the link too.
