I was recently in Hong Kong then China then Vietnam (I have a good twenty gigs of raws to get through) and on my first day in Hong Kong i brought a 50mm 1.8 Prime for my D40. So, keeping in mind this is within an hour of buying this new lens, all manual focus (D40 cant autofocus with this lens) at 1.8 (I wanted to try out the extreme of what my lens could do) what do you think of these playground shots?

4. These next too are very posed but i like them on the round about thingy. Shame i couldnt get them natural really. I had to ask their mother to take it of course so by the time i had and had got them in focus they had posed up.

I cant remember if those last two were actually shot at 1.8 (CBF exif) and they kind of dont look like it.

Thanks!

those look quite amazing , its a shame the d40 doesnt autofocus with that 50mm

I love the skin tones. The composition not so much IMO.
