Not that anyone cares, but... I'm wiped. I just pounded out chapter 12 in my book. That puts me at 53K words with an assumed target of around 110-120K total. First draft only, but that's right at about the halfway point, so feeling pretty good about that.

I did about 20K words in 2 weeks, so if I can keep with this, I'll probably make it through my first pass on the entire book in a month... maybe two.

Anyway... yeah. Felt like sharing?

Basically it lets you have a profile where you can list the books* your reading, that you've read and that you want to read. Along side that book listings themselves have user submitted reviews - there are also some authors as members - social networking thingies (ie chatting to people and suchlike).
Book listings also have things such as collections and recommended reads - its even got a neat code for looking at your listed books and then suggesting more to read.

A great site for any book fans


* you can generally list books or get really specific with the exact version/copy you have of books. Just plug in the ISBN number and away you go.

Writing is HARD. It definitely wears you out. Well, maybe what wears me out the most is all the diversionary tactics I use to avoid sitting down and writing.

Fiction or non-fiction? What's your book about? Are you going to self-publish it, or have you already gotten a publisher for it?

Yesssss... Like TPF!! (Distractions)

It's a fantasy fiction novel... Intended to be the first in a trilogy. It's a coming of age/power story. The main character is a girl in her early twenties. Much more than that I can't say without exposing too much. .

My focus was to make a comfortably familiar type of fantasy but with a small cast of really well developed characters who are not quite so much good and evil as strongly opposed in their driving force to attain a certain higher ideal.
