Horizontal Tripod ??

Hey all,

I want to get a horizontal tripod arm for shooting products/flowers. I currently have a Sunpak 7500 tripod (very sturdy) and was wondering if anyone knew of a horizontal arm that fits this tripod? Or would I need to upgrade my tripod all-together?

Any suggestions/advice would be appreciated.

What do you mean horizontal arm.? The head on this tripod can use vertical or horizontal mode you just have to turn it in the direction you wish to use.

I am not sure you can remove the head from this tripod if you want to use something else.

May have answered my own question...I am able to unscrew the top part of the tripod -- if the horizontal arm would screw-on I should due good-to-go!

Ann -- this is what I was looking at [ TRIX2500 Photek The eXtender, 38" Telescopic Horizontal Tripod Arm with Ball Head. ] I was able to get the head of the tripod off, I will have to see the screw on size of the arm to see if it works.

Some of the newer Manfrotto tripods have a centre column that can be very easily turned horizontal and locked into place.

I thought Manfrotto had one, but I have never found it on their site.

I have the Extender arm.. and it does work well. I also have the same functionality on my Giotto's tripods... as the center column will pull out and mount horizontally. I no longer need the Extender Arm... although I occasionally use it as a boom for lighting. Would sell it if somebody made an offer!

I was on a page (on their site) that had a mention of the 'pattented Manfrotto horizontal'...something or other. Can't find it now, of course :roll:.
