# 2, 3 and 4 have an aura, which works for me. # 1 is quite different, like shot from 60-ties from some "Home..." magazine, in #5 that person is way too close to the lens. It is confusing if it is a portrait of this man or something else. And I actually like the choice of this place for photo.

I like the ideas but they are quite dark, the last one for instance has a white point of only 204 on the histogram.
It doesn't go with the title. They all have a predominance of dark tones which says cool and shady. If you want unrelenting sun then it is characterised by a high proportion of bright tones with quite sharp lines defining quite bright shadows, overall quite a bright, sharp and harsh effect.
I like the graphic shapes in the second image but again it's quite dark and not squared which is a must for graphic patterns.
