Another new image from a visit to Venice a couple of years ago. Our hotel was directly across the canal from the Grande.

Is it me or is this not quite level...?

The building itself has small issues, the sections aren’t perfectly rectangular. Might be a bit off level, but unless you’re dead center taking the photo something will be off.

That plus Venice is sinking !!

Yes, it was a silly place to build a city.....:)

Nice twilight capture!
At first, I thought the same thing as Jeff15 but that's Venice. I'll never be able to go there but I have heard that these old buildings have magnificent interiors. Do you have any images of the interior decor?

Nice pic! Maybe more "grande" on the inside, as mentioned. I bet you see rustic everywhere around that place.

I'll check to see if I have any interior shots of our hotel. One of the big surprises about Venice is that you are constantly walking up and down steps, because the bridges across the "streets' are all arc-shaped. Anotheer was that the city is built on wood pilings that never rot.
