HotShoe

[Rampage]

I know this is a dumb question but I honestly don't know the answer so I figured I would ask. What is a HotShoe and what does it do? I am a rookie at this stuff and the best way to figure out things is to ask someone who knows. Thank you in advance.

A hot shoe is the spot on the top of most SLRs/DSLRs for a flash to attach to.

It has electrical connections in it to trigger the flash.
