Hoverfly with new camera

Hi All just took some of my first macro shots with my new camera.
I'm considering going for a 90mm Macro lens soon to get a bit of extra clarity.

Please tell me what you think. C&C Please

Looking good! My only suggestion would be to focus on the eye (photo 3) instead of the wings. What f-stop were you using?

These were shot between F10 and F16, the fly was about 5mm long so I was lucky to focus on anything at all

A true 1:1 macro lens would be the best way to improve your macro photography. What were you looking at, the Tamron 90mm? Great lens... I wold also suggest the Tokina 100. Pricing is similar, and if you look around, the Tokina seems to hold value better. of course that also means that used prices are higher than the Tamron.

Yep the Tamron 90mm, will go for 1:1 and higher mag by using extension tubes. I really just want clarity at a workable focal length.
