I am working on a series of portraits for a photography class and want to achieve the look/tones in the photo below. Please help in any way thanks

Taking your saturation and vibrance down a bit is a good starting point.

Looks like a layer of low opacity blue was added as well.

just google photoshop vintage actions. there's a ton of them out there, and it's an easy cheat for getting pseudo film-ish type shots.
