My guess is just lighting and then upping the contrast and maybe the WB? Please correct me if i'm wrong which I probably am. Looks HDR-ish kinda, cool.

there are several videos on the internet which go into great detail on how to acheive this look which is called "Dave Hill style". Also, i believe Luics art software has similar actions.
