How do I get rid of this flare???

Hi everyone,

SO I'm pretty pissed how my pictures came out. Now if I had a ND filter, would that have kept the lights from flaring like that? Any advice is greatly appreciated. This last one is disgusting...

PRETTY, good-looking sunstars gotcha' down, Ziggy???? I honestly do NOT think you can eliminate them at night like that...point sources rendered against a dark field...gonna get the sun-star effect at night...number of points has to do with the # of diaphragm blades...Ken Rockwell has some articles on sunstars...he's a big fan of them...

I like the feeling of #3, the light, composition and good balance makes it by far the better one of the set.
I am guessing that it is a self-portrait, the only nit is the chopped foot (...so easily done in a self-portrait), but I really do like it!

Yeah the third is my favorite too, and it is indeed a self portrait.

Really? I wasn't too fond of them much, but when I look @ the picture I just uploaded without the flairs, it does tend to look a bit boring comparing them..

Yeah, I'm starting to think that as well Mully. The shot without the flairs just doesn't look as interesting as the others...
