How do these look?

I've been taking some landscape shots, and would love some input! Which one is the best, and what I need to change?

A few quick questions :

1. What is your subject on pic 1? Is your subject obscured?
2. Will a landscape look good on a vertical shot?

I'm sure you have the answers.

Colours are decent. Exposures are reasonable. Compositions are okay except on pic 1 you might want to try giving a little more breathing space. And I'll try to avoid vertical shots for landscapes unless you have a good reason to show it in upright format.

I like picture #1 the most, the blooming tree in front of the barn at twilight; to me the subject is blooming tree in front of barn at twilight, with tiny moon....that seems to be the subject: "the scene. THe others really do not do anything for me, except for #3, which has that really nifty "Z-shaped" cloud near the horizon--that to me makes that an interesting sunset.

Agree with pic 1 with the blossoms being the subject. However I feel there is a sense of lacking in order. In other words it appears messy. If the subject has a reasonable distance from the barn behind it then it will stand out and not appear flushed with the barn.

I'll personally move close to the blossoms to accentuate the subject and take the shot from a low angle with a wide angle lens, with blossom on the lower 1/3 left and with barn behind and moon on the top right. This might give a feel of the blossoms reaching for the moon with the barn trying to suppress it

Great input for the peach tree blooms, but I have only two lenses and neether are wide angle.

As for the vertical photos, I always edit a few extras like that just for fun, I just kinda like them. Gotta have some fun right?!!

The blooming peach tree photo is from early spring.

I was not planing taking any pictures, but I saw that Z shape and thought I should get a few!

Totally understand the challenges of not having the right lens for the right moment

Yes, I like the last edit the best.... Perhaps a different aperature would help seperate the barn from the tree better. They both seem slightly out of focus. I don't know whether a longer or shorter DOF would help the most. Somebody with more experience than I probably knows the way to go. I like the photo anyway, thanks for sharing.
