HOW is this BW?

To me it seems pretty good.

Nothing is clipping according to photoshop, except the black in his hair.

Very nice! Love the pose and his expression. Post processing is well done.

My only suggestion is his shirt. The words are competing too much with his face. Maybe next time choose a shirt that is not so "loud."

I think its a good start! I would add contrast and bump up the highlights/down the shadows. There seems to be a lot of grey.

Looks good.

Did you do some editing? The sclera (eye whites) of his camera left eye are a lot brighter than in his right eye.
If you didn't do any editing, I recommend you brighten the sclera of his camera right eye.

I think it's a good conversion - contrast levels look good to me. This isn't a high-contrast sort of subject. I didn't even notice the eye until KmH mentioned it, but yeah, it looks weird now that I notice it. But I think I didn't notice it because of the distraction of trying to figure out what his t-shirt said, so I agree with jenko that maybe a solid t-shirt would have been better.
