How to manually focus my dSLR

I've found that the sweet spot on my D200 is when I focus beyond the subject and bring it back until the light just comes on. That was the way I focused my old SRT 101 too so maybe it'll work on Canons.

another option would be to add a 2x finder on the body. you will not see the entire frame, but will assist you in finer focus details.

Thats an interesting idea but given the small view finder on the 300D anyway, I'd rather stick with the WYSIWYG nature of the SLR
