How's my duck?

I normally ignore ducks. Sure they are cute and all, but they are all over the place when I am chasing Ospreys around. Early this morning I have some very cool light to work with. Love it, hate it, let me know...

Not too bad. Love the reflection on the smooth water!

Wow! Nice shot! I like it.

Agreed. It would be boring without the reflection but with it it is really a nice shot.

Tell me, simply because I can NOT tell the difference, how do you tell a hen Black Duck from a hen Mallard? I love shooting ducks but I've never been able to tell the difference between them.

Lol, I googled it

But I think the primary difference is the bill color. Plus I have not seen any male mallards in quite awhile here, with the amount of these ducks that are here, there is not a single green head. Of course I could be 100% wrong...

You could be right, I honestly don't know either. I used to work with a bunch of duck hunters, and they could tell a Black Duck from a Mallard a mile off. All I could ever get out of them was a, "Well, they are just different ducks and don't look the same."
