HS Sports have started.

Okay, Football week 1 is still a couple of weeks off. But HS Fall Softball started this week. Pretty good night for me except for that one instance when I tried to use my right ear to catch a foul ball. Update on that is it hit me in the best possible spot on my body (the head), no camera gear was harmed.

All shot with the 1D mk IV and 300mm f/2.8. Got a little tight at times. Shot from the dugout and bullpen.

Thanks @weepete. We have great trainers at the school and she got the bleeding stopped so I didn't miss any action.

Softball (and baseball) are spring sports for us.

Sorry about the hit

I almost got one of those.
I was near 3rd, watching 1st, and the batter hit a foul ball right at me.

Luckily it missed, cuz I broke one of my own rules; I wasn't watching the ball, and I wasn't BEHIND something to protect me.

I'm busy with a pen show this week, next week is when I spool up.

Girls tennis, girls volleyball, football and water polo.

I'm trying to teach the kids, so I don't have to shoot so much.

Both are spring for us too but the girls added fall ball a couple of years ago.

No worries about the hit, those things happen from time to time.

I just added a football game for next Friday night back in my home town. May not get to shoot the entire game because of the lights but I should be able to get some action for them. And it is football so I'm excited.
