Hummer on the arbour

I noticed a couple hummers around the Rose-of-sharon bush so I went out with a Vivitar 135/2.8 on my camera to try & get a shot of them. Unfortunately they would only attend flowers on the other side of the bush from me. One then perched on the adjacent arbour & I got a couple quick frames before it flew off.

Wow, and you pulled this off with a manual focus lens? Hats off to you.

Manual focus is not as difficult as you might think. Since the bird was a tiny target in the frame an auto focus lens would likely have missed it altogether. This was the first time trying out this lens & I was a bit disappointed in the sharpness of the bird. I will have to try some more with this lens before I make a call on it. I have a Sears 135mm that is very good - yes, a Sears.
