Humming Bird C&C please.

I have had my new DSLR for about two and a half weeks and its my first camera that isn't a point and shoot. I took these while i was messing around in the backyard at a friends house. I would like to see what others thought about them.

Your subject is spot on in the middle of the frame!
I wouldn't do that if I were you.
I quite like the colors and the photo is ok but I think you should crop it a bit closer and get the bird to the left of your frame.

Awesome a rebel t2i. I have a suggestion for composition. When using the view finder use the top and bottom focus points and the 4 points that arent quite fully left and right as targets for where in the frame you want your subject. You can even focus with the middle point if you like and move the camera so the subject is at any of those 6 points. Those points are all very close to the 1/3 mark which is considered ideal for composition

This is how I trained myself to keep the subject out of the center.
