I had a chance to play a bit with a new used lens for my Sony A57. The lens is Tokina 75-300.

I like the first hornet? in focus with the other two gradually less focused as they fly in to the feeder.

Nice images and interesting also, but then why wouldn't insects fly into feed on the same type of liquid that attracts hummingbirds. I really like the first one as it looks like a "time sequence" shot as the insect got closer and closer to the feeder.

I see them frequently too. But the hummingbirds will run them off, and they'll come back.

BTW..........you shouldn't use the red stuff. It can be harmful to the hummers. Mix it yourself (4 to 1 mix). They love it. Do a Google search for hummingbirds, and read up on them.
