Huts at the Foot of a Hill

So that's where the gnomes live

Get serious! Gnomes don't live in mushrooms! SMURFS live in mushrooms! Can't you see papa smurf hiding behind the one on the left???

Seriously, I like the shot...

Nice shot, but I think I would have done a little gardening and removed the clover(?)on the right side, as it is a bit of a distraction IMHO.

This was taken near where I meet my daughter from school. She said something very similar when I showed her :)

We have some smurfs somewhere, would it be too kitsch to place them in such a shot?

Thanks.

Thanks. I printed it this morning and once on paper this is also what occured to me. I really must put a small set of scissors in my camera bag.

Scissors? Okay, but I would have just used my fingers and very gently removed the distracting foliage - do it often.

really underexposed and the flash has created strong shadows and sucked the life and colour from the image

Sure, but I took another couple of shots from a different angle and found myself plucking odd pieces of grass out of the way for what seemed like ages. A pair of scissors seems like a good idea.

Granted there is some slight shadowing, but the flash has actually done the opposite of what you suppose as far as colour is concerned, which is why I used it (notice that I used slow flash, which doesn't swamp the scene with light and darken the background). The exposure is good and I really cannot see why you think this photo is really underexposed.
