Well, I woke up this morning, and I realized that the initial shock and buyer's remorse is GONE! Now, I'm just excited and can't wait until it arrives!!

My dad offered to open it up and get the batteries charging right away, so when I get up there on Friday I cna start playing with it right away, but like a kid at Christmas, I want to open the box myself...I know that's dumb, but there's something so exciting about opening the box!

How many days left until Friday?

Congrats on the new camera! I'm sure you'll love it - when I got my D50 after using a little digicam for a while, it felt so good to hold the camera to my eye and hear a click again

The pictures I took were not the same as I got with the little one though, colours were different etc, so be prepared to play around before you figure out what works the best for you. Maybe use both together on a shoot to start with to see exactly what differs.

I've not used mine much yet, and I've had it for almost 3 months - but then the weather has not been great at all. You're getting yours at a good time, when the year is on it's way in, there'll be loads you want to do with it!

Why don't you have your dad open it and charge the battery and then once it is charged he can box it up again. You would never know it was already opened and then could start playing right away.

Congrats on your purchase. i just recently went through the same thing. I upgraded from my point and shoot to a D70S. I now have to learn how to really take pictures, but it has been a blast learning and my photos are the better for it. Waiting those 3 hours for the battery to charge initially though was very hard. i wish I could have had the option of having it charged and waiting for me as soon as I bought it.

I wish I could make it. With my 1 year old at home and my work schedule right now it is hard to even take a few hours to get into Boston right now. Hopefully that will change soon though and then I would love to make the trek for sure!
