One that will sit still and not wiggle around, complain, or tell me she has to go get dinner ready.

 Seriously though, this little guy should be a big help while I figure out different lighting techniques. My wife and daughter have a bunch of stuffed animals, but most of them are insanely fuzzy and make it hard to tell how hard or soft the shadows actually are, and while I can usually get either of them to pose for me, they're less patient when I'm experimenting with different combinations of lighting modifiers or whatever. :-P

Haha! Lucky for me I have an abundance of model friends :)

No worries for wardrobe malfunction on these guys

Yep, it should help with your practice with lighting. I think eventually though you're going to need bigger model as your light modifiers for your green dragon won't be proportioned to our fellow humans. I think that's why you might be having a hard time telling with the softer and harder shadows as the modifiers are ginormous in comparison. Eventually maybe a dummy might be more beneficial for size and skin tone practice

Man I was gonna make some lewd remark, but you just totally ruined it by having it be some cute kids toy.

Funny , I thought of using my wife's collection of stuffies for models. They don't talk and you can take as long as you want to set the shot up. =) I think you've given me inner permission to use one for composition shots. As the ocmments said though, for lighting might have to upgrade to a manaquin.

Yeah mostly what I'm trying to practice right now is balancing light with reflectors and fill flash, so I think this will help for a while at least. The problem of scale occurred to me, but I'm looking at more than just how hard or soft the shadows are - I'm more concerned with how to fill in the shadows. The previous toys were just sooo furry that I could never tell if the effect was from the light or the abundance of fur.

In some of my test shots tonight I had a total brain fart about the angle the sun was coming through the window at, and realized there was no way to get a reflector where I needed it and still have it give the effect I wanted. That kind of experience is what I'm hoping to learn from. :)

Phew, close one.

Pretty kitty. :)

No twisted pixel. I doubt they are hotter than misscream. :)

Maybe I should go to some department stores and ask if they have any damaged mannequins they wouldn't mind letting go of...

Wow. Seems like you kids need a new bottle of hand lotion.

I hope I get to see the day your wives stumble across this site.

Biggest batch of popcorn ever.
