I am the thing that goes bump in the night

well on number one the focus looks off...it looks like it is on the thing behind the barrel(lack of better words) so the barrel looks a little fuzzy...but I really like number 5...very cool looking!

I would say that the majority of the photos are not as pin sharp as they could be on the subject itself. That said, its no wonder why not. The noise and concussion coming from that beast probably makes it a little hard to focus perfectly.

The 2nd image is a real beaut! Awesome color, great depth of focus and nice framing. The smoke from the barrel on that one is the only little niggle but other than that, very cool.

I have always wondered when they were going to take these things from the Navy and put them up as area defence weapons. If you think about it, the whole Aegis defence plan could be transported to a landbased system that would pretty much mean no nasty wake up calls from the bad guys mortars etc.

Thanks for sharing.

3 and 7 are the best images. Althought it is generally difficult at times to shoot a subject in the dark/low light, these seem to the best of the images. Not 100% but thats probably due the circumstances of the shot... excellent all the same.

number 7 is my favorite, and the only thing I can see that would make it better is if you could more properly explose the muzzle flash... but judging from the video it isn't firing long enough to set up an HDR style go where you could blend in a less overexposed flash with the rest of the shot.

Awesome work, and thanks(both as a soldier and a photographer).
