I am trying to make a custom brush but when I define the brush then go to use it the text is very very small how do I know how big my text will be on the brush?

You should be able to select brush size and adjust that.

don't do it with a brush. When you increase the size it will distort it... My "watermark" is a separate image that I drag and drop on each photo to watermark it... I don't really use it anywhere other than facebook and on my "official" website though... I have definitely learned that watermarks aren't really necessary... If someone wants your image bad enough, they'll find a way to get rid of the watermark and make the image work... It's happened to me... It sucks.

It doesnt distort it for me.

Why bother? They are more trouble than the placebo protection they give.
Oh, yeah, never mind, watermarks make you legit.

maybe I described it wrong...

My first "watermark" was made as a brush and when I made it larger, it would be "fuzzy" and unclear... i still feel like I'm not explaining it right lol

If you use a low resolution image to make the brush then the brush will be "fuzzy and unclear when you make it larger. You have to use high resolution image for that, the one I used was 1200 pixels on the long side and I have no problems with mine.

This, the only time you should use them is if you're sending proofs to a client, even then I think it's still kind of crappy.

If it's pictures you plan on uploading to the web and sharing, that watermark better be tiny and not distracting at all.
