Well for a second, i was waiting for a little while knowing he was going come land at least for a second. I know its not great, but considering how hard they are to get close to. It was a heavy crop and the white on the neck is blown out, but i still kinda like it. It has a little detail that is sometimes hard to get on kingfishers unless you setup a blind... That's my next idea to try.

I agree. It's tough to chase or stalk this little guy. I have no success yet. I know where he/she is but as soon as I step a little closer, the dude takes off every single time. Like you said, need to setup a blind. Currently I have a hat as a blind and it's not working too well :mrgreen: Your picture is great. Thanks for sharing.

You under-rate yourself; this is outstanding! Kingfishers are TOUGH--these little guys know when you're just *thinking* about stepping closer to them! If I ever get that good of a shot of one, I'd consider it an overwhelming success.

"usually" I see these guys out of the corner of my eye, flying away from me... So, as Sharon said, if "I" was able to get close enough to get your image, I'd also consider this an overwhelming success.
