I finally got them!

Trying to get a shot of Cormorants around here is a challenge, because they are usually much further out, and the fly off at the first sign of a camera. These two were so enamored with one another, that they apparently didn't notice me. The ducks photobombed the shot, so the one on the left isn't quite in focus.

Nice capture. I personally wouldn't expect anyone to get the ducks in focus without compromising the light needed for the subjects. you did fine I think.

It's funny how bright light can cause darker shadows and actually make it harder to edit a pic. i ran into that problem with some shots of an osprey I just posted.

IMHO, you could crop in closer and try to clone out what's left of the ducks.

I tried that, but I ended up with a distracting 1/4 of a duck in the upper left corner, so I decided to leave the whole duck in.
