ok, thanks for the info everybody. Hopefully i will get a good DSLR for christmas, maybe a D80 like mark suggested and at least another lens.

I dont suppose theres an adaptor for the nikon that changes it to have a kmount because i have that zoom lens???

Nope, no adapter available. But current Pentax DSLRs still use the K mount.

alrighty, I found this Pentax KM, all the details are on this page, what are people's opinions about it as a starting digital slr???

does it have manualfocus setting??
