I know this is really dark, it's noisy and it's very minimal but I still dig it.

But what? It's a black screen a white circle and some other black oval on the right? Trash this one.

Nobody's going to share in digging this unless you fill us in with some context. As an image, it fails to do that. Not trying to be harsh, and it's nice that you like it but most people will look at this and just casually wonder what it might be and then they'll forget about it.

Is it a car mirror? (on the right)

Well, you've just hit the nail on the head, didn't you?

Who cares what anybody thinks if you dig it.

Oh, yes, I am serious.

You're the photographer, you decide.

We're the viewers and we'll decide what we buy... Ain't that a biatch?

It's not a mirror. I like it because it looks like a hole sucking the light out of the sky. I didn't expect anyone else to like it but I was curious if anyone else was as crazy as I am. Just one of those things. Here's another pic of the same object that I've posted before.

bentcountershaft, I really like that new photo you posted and I am happy to bump this thread by responding to a couple of responses to my previous one.

Not if it's a hobby.

If it's a hobby I sure hope you decide yourself what you're going to buy. Or are you not talking about buying art?

OK sure, but if you post it specifically for others to see shouldn't you at least share what it is you like and, .... what it is?

No. As I've said a few times on this forum, the artist does not always know what it is he/she likes about a piece. Artists create things but that doesn't mean they can tell you why. But I'll swear to you I would never show a piece if I didn't like it.

If it's hanging in a gallery or I'm showing it on a forum, I like it. And I have shows for people to see my work... :D

What it is doesn't matter either. Maybe knowing what it is will skew your impression of the piece when it doesn't matter to the artist. So why should he/she share what it is?

I have known many people who enjoy art and buy it and I have never had someone show me a piece that they could not say why they liked it. I have never heard of someone buying somthing and not know why. Nothing about this post makes sense. The only sense is in the mind of the poster and it was posted as if to make a point yet no point has been made. this seems more like a troll post to me.

I think taking pictures is a little like writing. You write certain things with a particular audience in mine. If you're writing a children's book then you gear it toward them. If you're writing an essay then your professor is your audience. When I take a photo, it's generally not for any one else but my own enjoyment. Being an amateur I don't have to worry about any particular audience or whether it's marketable, just as long a I like it. Figuring that out was liberating.

No troll post and really no point or anything to prove. Maybe that there is no accounting for taste. I just liked it. If other people don't then they don't. I don't take it personally.

Maybe you want to read me again. I agree that someone buying art and not knowing why would be very strange. However, does it mean they can't buy it for the simple and only reason that they like it.

But that has very little to do with the artist knowing why he likes his work and decides a piece is worth showing or not. And since bencountershaft mentioned writing, I'm going to make you feel even weirder because I understand even less about my writing then I do about my visual art. :D

And don't call people trolls just because you don't get what they're saying. Should I call a troll for not even trying to understand artists?

Yeah! Looks cool. I like abstraction in photography...most photos are dead-obvious what they are all about, so any photo that gives me pause for more than a few seconds automatically rises above the level of the self-obvious and the self-explanatory, which is the vast majority of photos created.
