not sure how often people clean these. But I am thinking the following since I have had it for six months or more now I think.

a. I don't use it enough to warrant cleaning (maybe 5000 shutters on it or less?)

b. I don't change lenses a lot, so it isn't getting dirty. And when I change them I don't leave one off and it open for more than a couple seconds.

c. the in camera cleaning does a good job.

d. it is dirty and I just haven't realized it yet.

just a side note. I have known others that went years without cleaning a dslr. I never realized cleaning was such a big issue until I kept seeing it come up on this forum.

Years in between cleanings CAN be accomplished. I've gone years in-between, with over 30 to 60,000 images fired. The deal? I shoot a lot of f/4.5 or f/5.6, and the dust spots do not show up all that badly; shoot at f/16 though, and it looks like small, round, sharp-edged pencil marks or ink dots. Ad now, there is in-camera cleaning, plus yo8u do the quick lens swaps, and only infrequently. You ought to be good for a long time.

You only clean your sensor if it's dirty, not as regular maintenance. Set it on f22 - point the cam at a clear blue sky, and then examine your sensor for dust on your monitor.

what I am hoping. I don't want to clean sensors any more than I want to do dishes.

Good advice. I was wondering if when the time came I could just use a air nozzle and my air compressor and blow it out at like 60 psi. About the same thing right?

The blower doesn't really work, assuming you have stubborn dust, you need to wet clean it or use a gel stick.
Air compressor ... now that's funny, if I was you I would put it in a dishwasher (works best face down, bottom shelf):biglaugh:
