Here are a couple inspired by PR's motion photos. I was standing still, hand holding these with a 3 stop ND filter at f/22 to give me a 1/6 and 1/5 second exposure.

1) Which way is up?

I like them! I wish I'd thought of it, actually! Everyone does nighttime state fair shots, I like the ND/daytime/black and white combo.

Thanks. A friend and I were there in the evening and were going to stay and do night shots but we changed our mind and go to playing with the nd filter for a little bit.

Ron, they are certainly more interesting than straight shots, at least to me.

If you haven't tried it yet, do the same slow shutter on scenes where people are walking - you'll have the foot on the ground perfectly exposed and solid, and the leg increasingly blurred up to a body that may be almost unrecognizable. Kinda fun, actually.

Thanks. I will have to try that soon. May have to get out and go downtown with a tripod on this one it sounds like.
