What's new

I think these are my favorite photos so far, cc please

These are a nice set; well done. My only thought is that it have been even stronger if you'd increased your strobes by a stop or two and knocked down the background a bit. This way it would reduce the brightness of the background and force the eye to stay on the subject.

I wish that I had strobes, this is all just done with natural light. Thank you for liking them, I really respect your opinion!

Sorry... missed some words there... " increased your light by using strobes". These (and your other set) are well done for having no fill lighting. Have you considered using reflectors?

I have just some homemade type of reflectors. Maybe for Christmas the hubs can get me some!

You can do amazing things with DIY gear - even just posterboard works very well; you can pick up 24"x24" or even 24x48" sheets fom Staples or Office Depot for a coupe of dollars.

That is what I have, but rarely find myself bringing it because I don't always have someone to hold it for me. I got one of the science fair thick poster boards that fold up in thirds so atleast it is easier to store.

Nice set...I have a suggestion...if you have one and are not using it for your camera, use your tripod to hold a reflector - a simple clamp to hold the reflector to one of the legs - I am sure you could work something out or use this: Wimberley Professional Photo Gear - The Plamp. If you are a do-it-yourselfer, then something like this would be easy to do... DIY Plamp #1 | Flickr - Photo Sharing! and might do the job - it would hold just about anything you had - read the reviews below the picture for more information. HTH.

Cheers,
