What's new

I think these are PERFECT!! C&C Please!!

Did you use a vinyl mat on the floor? I like the bucket. Where did you get it?

Thanks! I used bulletin board paper from Michaels. The bucket I got from target. I think they are seasonal because there were red and green ones.

If the parent is not totally excited about these images have them get their eyes checked.

I noticed the shadow too, some light dodging would fix this nicely.

p!nK

Thankyou! I fixed the shadows too :)

Robinson...
I'm going to say what the floor is, at least what I think it is.
I believe this poster also posts on another board I frequent and we've found that at teacher supply stores, they have bulletin board paper in rolls, they have one called Weathered Wood. I think it is about 12.99 a roll.

However, I found that unless you already have a hard floor surface, that paper just crinkles and looks bad...so many people are spray glueing it to plywood. The plywood itself is 18 or so dollars, and I think that makes it too heavy to move.

Here is an example in this thread... Great Deal - Photographing Your Life - BabyCenter

So here is what I've found. At Lowes, the wood paneling.... They come in 8 foot sections, in many many colors, from dark cherry all the way down to white wash. I asked them to cut one for me in a 5 foot section, so now I have one 5 foot and one 3 foot. It was like 13 dollars.

It is what I used here...

OMG cute photo and i LOVE the wood! Is that all it is? Wood paneling? and only $13? Im making a trip to lowes....

yeppers! and don't forget to ask them to cut it down for you! They will, free!

...and yes, we've discovered that Micheal's no longer carries the paper in most places! But they have it at any teacher supply store, it is calls Bulletin Board paper

oh no! I have to stock up then. I love this paper! and its only $7. I think our Micheals has a few more rolls.

they are nice, but on the cool side. seems to be a wb issue. warm them up, and they will be great.

I'm alittle worried about the safety of your prop Christmas balls. Were these plastic or glass? The glitter can easily come off and get caught in eyes, mouth and nose along with skin. The decorations could've been along the outside of the bucket for decor and the baby could've been eating a cookie. Am I the only one seeing the concern.

#2 is the winner here.. these are FANTASTIC. Congrats on such a successful shoot. I'd love to have these in my portfolio.

Would you mind telling us a little more about your lighting setup?

i thought of the safety issue too.. but the wb is what caught my eye first.

just for the heck of it i did a quick play, i hope you don't mind.
i adjusted MOST everything in ACR.. added warmth. LOTS of black.. recovered your blown spots, and lowered the exposure a little.. then i added a cyan filter, masked back reds, then did 2 softlight layers masking back baby in the first layer. a little usm, and done. i LOVE how crisp your image is. it's very nice.
(again this was just a quick play, doing more adjustments this would be very nice)

Everything comes together, except for that garish, diagonally-striped background...ugh! Alternating red and white lines on a diagonal AND in good focus...oh my...photo #2 is very difficult to look at...after looking at the image for a few seconds, the kid appears to be vibrating...

I tried hard... but I really don't see it...
