Beautiful.

Great stuff Kris! RT's are high on my list of favorite raptors. You still using the Tammy 200-500 or did you find a replacement/upgrade yet?

Are you still wearing the rabbit suit?;)

Thanks everyone

I am sticking with the Tamron. I figured out my issue was major front focus. Dialed it in to +10 and it seems to be in a happy spot

The rabbit suit got shredded so I replaced it with a giant mouse costume :)

Birds of prey have no fear. Makes for an interesting subject. I agree on #4.

Your amazing at your shots. I like #1 the best, than #4

Great shots as per usual Kris :) Love the 3rd one!

I love it every time you post. As someone who figures birding may be a fantastic way to spend time, I love it whenever I see you, matthewo, and a few others here post your bird shots. Very inspiring, and I love all of the little comments that come out from time to time about setting, equipment, and whatever else. Always gives me plenty to think about. :)

Thanks for posting these!

Kevin

Stellar! But then, what's new? :sexywink:

Every time I think I've gotten some fairly good, you come along and just blow anything I had out of the water! I had a GREAT weekend, got within about 100 feet of a juvenile bald eagle, even closer to an Osprey, and first-ever shot of a Merlin (hope to post pics of them tomorrow) but I gotta tell you--the whole time I was out shooting, I just kept looking through the viewfinder and thinking, "I wonder what this will look like when I get a lens that goes to 500mm?" :lmao:
Gonna be a LOOONNNNGGG few weeks waiting on that tax return... :D

Wow. My experience with those guys is the bolt if they see you within 500 yards of them. It's AMAZING how good their vision is.

NICE shots.

Manny, you're obviously not wearing the bunny suit. Apparently, it makes a difference. ;)

Kris, joking aside, your images are stellar. And it's not just the lens. Like Sharon, I'd like to be able to capture them the way you're able to. There's a combination of admiration, envy, and hope (those images are possible)!

Thanks everyone! It's interesting on my FB photo page a few people are saying that hawks can remember faces/people. Makes me wonder if this is the hawk that I watched eat bunnies on 2 separate occasions from 10 feet away. It obviously doesn't see me as a threat at all...

Getting the right settings is sort of the easy part. The hard part is finding the birds, getting close, having the sun in the right spot and waiting until something cool happens :)
