I would like some feedback please.....

Within the past year I have really fallen in love with photography. I have been learning as much as I can through blogs and youtube videos. I just joined and this is my first post

I would like some feedback on my most recent pics so I can learn even more.

This is my family and we had literally 15 mins to get these pictures. There was a break in rain and that was our window of opportunity. I used a Nikon D5100 and a 35MM 1.8 lens. It was a cloudy, day at about 5:30-6pm. These were shot at ISO 500, F/4.5, SS between 250-500. The family shot I used a remote and didn't hide it well

oops.... One of my many concerns in my photography is softness of one or more people in a group shot. My focal point is on someone in the middle of the group but I always feel someone is not sharp enough. I used lightroom to edit.

Hello and welcome to the site.

Isn't it so much fun to do portraits in a rush?

I think overall the photos a pretty good, better than standard snapshots. Not really feeling the dutch angle on the first photo though that looks to be one of the most fun lively pics. I think you got the exposure down pretty well, I may have brought down the highlights a little to see if I could get more detail out of the clouds.

O.K., feedback:

#1 there doesn't seem to be a reason to tilt the frame, and in doing so, it makes viewers have to "twist it around" in their minds. Not good. Also in #1 & #3 you cropped a child's feet. Also not good since there wasn't a reason other than you just missed.

All are quite good, but it seems the frame is too loose in #4 & #5.

Overall very nice!

i will ease back on the camera angles

The highlights were brought down all the way in an attempt to see more of the clouds.... The problem was that it was overcast and grey.

I see what you and MOREGONE are saying about the tilt. There wasn't a reason for the kids feet being cut off except I was snapping away and trying to keep up with a 3,5&8 year old with limited time

I know with more experience I will be able to be more successful under pressure.
