Last Sunday me and a friend decided to go Aurora hunting. We drove in a blind snow storm for about 2 hours, According to the forecast there were supposed to be open sky over the Thingvellir national park. (Þingvellir).
We arrived and waited for 20 minutes, then suddenly the skies open up and we start to shoot, the Northern Lights activity was not as strong as it was predicted & the only lights that came that night were captured :)
new fallen snow and moonlight lid up the beautiful landscape with the aurora dancing in the sky. What a beautiful view, Don't you agree.

Yes, I agree! There is just something about ice and snow that I find amazingly beautiful.

Nice, I like it.

Nice shot. Care to share your technical info on this one?

And it got explored on flickr day before i found out. :)

really great photograph. I spent some time in Iceland while in the military.. I wish I'd have had a good camera at the time.. but oh well. Again, great shot! thanks for sharing

I've never seen this beauty in my own eyes, but i will someday.
As for now all i've got is movies and great pics to look at.
Want to share with you some Iceland slides

Nice picture of the "northern lights". Here in northern Michigan we can occasionally catch a glimpse of them, but it's been a couple years since I've seen them.

Nice image again. Tonight could almost have been some very nice Aurora but the X-4.9 flare earlier this week only has a 45% chance to give a glancing blow to our magnetic field. current KP readings are showing as K 3 so maybe if can finally find some clear skies could find something tonight.
