The first one is a Brambling and the Second one is certainly a female Greenfinch

Thanks - I have had a brambling in the garden in the past, but I am sure it was much brightly coloured than this one - possible the difference twixt male and female.
I will have a search through my photo archives and see if I can find it.

Again I presume the second is a female greenfinch as the colouring is not as marked as my usual visitors.
