Please identify this tree.
Growing in the woods in SW Virginia in early September.

Definitely not posted for photographic quality.

Here it is a day later split open. The browning was because it is a day old.

Anyone know for sure?

Ahh... that's Geoff the tree! Typical Geoff, always hanging around SW Virginia in September.

or it might be an avocado tree.
