I traveled to Kaiserstuhl to photograph the Bee-eaters so I could show the world how beautiful these creatures are!
One week before this adventure I spoke to Katarina Paunović (who introduced wildlife photography to me) and she told me some bad news.
She told me that in Bačko Gradište (that´s 15 kilometers from the town Bečej where I´m born) somebody buried one of the biggest Bee-eaters nesting places in Serbia. There were 30 nesting pairs. She told me they know who did it, that they did it on purpose, that it is reported to the nature guards. Now we are waiting to see if they are going to be punished for that act.
I just can't believe that somebody could do such a thing to such a beautiful creature. What exactly happened? Somebody dumped 6 trucks full of concrete chunks on that little spot and on top of that, all this happened in a nature reserve.
The only source to this happening I could find here: http://www.rts.rs/page/radio/sr/story...
