I've tried a few times to get a good photo of this old castle near home, and this is about the best vantage point that I can accomplish on the ground, and it can only be seen here in winter.... It serves up as a fair photo at best. I have chosen to blow it out in PS, and feel I have gained a lot of artistic interest, although I feel a lot of purist photographers won't agree. I do this quite often with photos that just don't make it.

I know this probably won't intrigue you European folks, because you have nice castles all over, but ours in the states are hundreds of miles apart, and very rare. This one was built in the 1940s I think.

I am not even close to a purist and sorry, but that edit is not doing it for me.
Your trees look like they are ready to shoot lightning or something weird. Sometimes a bad photo can't be saved.
I'm not trying to be rude, just my opinion.

Maybe, I should clarify that the editing is to take the image away from being a photo and a bit more towards impressionistic artwork. When I chose this direction the last thing on my mind was saving it as a quality photo. I would have thought it would have looked cool if the treeline was on fire, considering the edit.
