I caught this after I got off work. It was so fast, but yes, he did kind of get him, the Eagle never moved but the crow hit him in the back.

I miss Washington and the amazing photo ops you get there.
When I saw my first bald eagle (outside of a zoo), I was in awe.


Cool bird, kind of an awkward angle.

Yeah, I was just trying to sneak up. I don't have any kind of really good zoom lens or anything. So I didn't want him to fly off, the crows were keeping him a bit busy but he kept looking down at me, I didn't want him to fly off so I just snapped a few quick pics. The first one being with the crow, I saw the crow kind of dive bombing him, then when I got up to him saw him coming from the back. If id waited a split second longer id have got him hitting the Eagle. But yeah, It was a bit further back, I cropped it myself in that image. Got a bit closer.

No, it was these two empty lots next to my work. Once a year they mow them, and when they do it is a feeding fest for the birds. The Crows are usually in there first, but like clockwork every year the Eagles then start to come as well. The crows then get defensive about there new massive eating ground. There is plenty to go around so everyone gets their fill. Not a good day for field mice.
