deal? good.

artists i've recently discovered and enjoyed (as well as some song suggestions):

amos lee
keep it loose, keep it tight
arms of a woman
seen it all before
colors

in fact, just get his whole self-titled album. it's all great. i love sam cooke and i kind of feel like this guy is a bit of a modernized version of sam. very relaxing and soulful.

polly paulusma
perfect 4/4
she moves in secret ways

i wasn't THAT thrilled with her voice at first, but it grew on me... and i like her lyrics a lot.

vienna teng
shasta (carrie's song)
homecoming (walter's song)
track 12

that last one is a hidden track i think. all three songs are from her "warm strangers" album. if you can't find them on itunes or anything, she has stuff on her website. (i was informed earlier that the UK itunes doesn't have her music. :er: ) anyway, she's got a beautiful voice... and, in my opinion, a bit of a tori amos/sarah mclachlan thing going on.

rosie thomas
farewell

regina spektor
i want to sing

she's an odd one, but i was attracted to this particular song for some reason. great pipes on this girl. :)

rachael yamagata
the reason why

great lyrics in that one.

martina sorbara
the end of the world

she sounds a LOT like jewel to me.

so, give those a listen when you have the time. if you want.

okay... your turn. bring it on!

given what i listed up there, i can see where you might think that... but trust me, you can't judge my taste solely based on those suggestions. i listen to LOTS of stuff. i just happen to have been on a bit of a folk-ish kick lately. not sure why.

there's always still room for metal, rock, rap, techno, alternative, country, punk... whatever. ;)

orie... is it just me or does that stuff strike you as erotic as well? :sexywink: :eyebrows:

also, the laughing in the background at the beginning of "wings of steel" is more than a little bit creepy! :pale:

and jon, that sounds familiar! i can't remember where/when i heard it before though. strange!

The Tragically Hip

Especially the older stuff on 'Up to Here' and 'Fully Completely"

Can't go wrong with The Dave Matthews Band! :D :D

Try these...

Too Much
Ants Marching
So Much to Say
Satelite
Trippin' Billies

....and that'll do you for now, get back to me if you want more! :)

maybe when we suggest music, we should include a link or something so others can listen to it.
