Hello all,
Im new to photography and taking a basic fundamentals of photography class at Amarillo College next semester. The only requirement for the camera we need in this class is that it needs to have f stops and shutter speeds. The camera I have is an old Olympus IS-1 does anyone know anything about this camera and if it should meet these requirements?

I appreciate your time.

From what I could find, it does appear to have automatic mode, aperture priority mode and manual mode. So yes, you should be able to adjust both F-stop & shutter speeds.

the IS1 was or is a great camera. Its got all the functions of a auto exposure SLR with manual options. It just has a fixxed zoom lens. You can get adapters for the lens to increase the telephoto and also a wide angle adapter.

Even though it can be used manually the only thing that might be an issue is that your F stops will be limited to whatever the faster Fstop is on the lens. You can't change lenses with it.

Should work for school though.
