The JV team has had a downright sh!tty season, so this win was pretty intense for them. Should have been in the car on the ride home... Volume control? HAH! And he has no mute button. Ever. Duct tape doesn't even help!

My pastor once asked me if my oldest talked in his sleep, because he wondered if there was EVER a moment when the boy wasn't talking! He's now 21, but he's still the one who calls me several times a week just to tell me insignificant little things about his day. I love that. My youngest lives in the same town and I have to text him every few weeks and ask if he's still alive, lol.

I love the photos; I agree that #3 is particularly powerful because it's so emotive.
But I like seeing the photos of your son, too!
I haven't shot a soccer game in almost two weeks, for one reason or another--sick, niece sick, game rained out, etc. Hoping to finally get another chance tomorrow evening. Picked up a 70-300 f/4.5-5.6 instead of my 55-300 since the last time I shot a game, so I'm anxious to see if it makes any difference at all. It sure is a more solid lens!

You mentioned the neice living with you which reminded me... We too seem to have acquired another child.
How are things going for your niece since she moved in with you guys? Has it been fairly smooth? Here? So far so good! We've actually had him since June, but it's becoming permanent. Custody hearings were Monday and one more on 10/29 to finalize.

But my niece is doing pretty well; she's a great kid, really. Fairly self-motivated--generally gets homework done without being told to do it, gets herself up in the morning without ANY effort on my part whatsoever, which is a HUGE change for me--I practically had to get a sandblaster to get MY kids out of bed in the morning at that age! She's frustrated because she's not getting as much playing time in games as she feels she should, and she's struggling a little with the relationship with her coach, I think. BUT, she scored a goal in Saturday's game, so maybe that'll help her campaign to get more playing time.
Honestly, she's required way less effort than my own kids did at that age--she just needed to get away from her witch of a step-mother.

How old is your newest addition? Elena is 16, and we don't plan to do any official custody or anything. She's here though until she goes to college in two years. She'll probably live with my brother who is here most of the time--but right now, he has three OTHER people living with him. Including MY youngest son, and my son's girlfriend--she got kicked out of her house for no apparent reason, and he finally took my advice and got out of the horrible little apartment he was living in (after it got broken into, through a window that was already busted--and the landlord, two months later, STILL hasn't fixed the window). I told you it was a soap opera!

OUrs is 13 and he came from a very neglected situation. He's also a really good kid and that is SOOO different here! Mine are HIGH MAINTENANCE. He hasn't had any maintenance ever, so he doesn't know how to be like them!
We have to have custody-long story that involves a GIANT soap opera and Child Protective Services. I'm not sure if it's a soap opera or a horror story some days! He makes the extra kid part easy. His 50+ year old mother is the horror story. She even looks like the old guy on Poltergeist. Nightmares, I tell you!!!
