guys I need a little help...

we have some 5x7 photos that are 2-3 years old.

I do not have the negatives, but we do own the pictures. Essentially we just want to scan them and be able to zoom in on our computer for now to look at them more closely. We don't need to zoom abnormally close just a little bit. I called Kinkos and they said that they can do but I need to know what DPI I want. I have no idea about that. We just want to zoom in a little on our computer without it getting distorted....your thoughts or recommendations? I have a standard lexmark printer/scanner/copier but I know its crap....

Thanks...

There is no need to re-post your question. It will be less confusing if you keep it to the original thread.

If you want to print them later, then at least start with 300 dpi. Higher dpi will make you files bigger. 300 dpi will give you decent print quality.
