I got my camera back from a repair facility a few weeks ago. Some settings had been changed and I thought I had returned them to my preference. But now every time I turn the camera off and back on again the Image size reverts to jpeg from the RAW I had it set at and the raw compression goes back to RAW compression from the RAW 14 bit I had it set to. Anybody know what I'm doing wrong? Forgot to say it's a D500.

Assuming it's a Nikon, this page may help.

I personally send my gear into Nikon each year to be serviced. Before I send it off, I Save/load settings to a CF Card and then put that card on my desk. Nikon, when they service our gear, have to put many settings back to the “default” to do their testing and repairs. When you get your camera back, you need to input your settings all over again unless, you’ve used the Save/load settings and with a quick, couple of toggles, have them all reloaded in a snap.

I don't know Nikon interfaces at all, however double check the manual. Perhaps your setting values for a custom mode by accident rather than for all/general modes (eg on a Canon the mode dial has custom modes as well as aperture, shutter, manual etc... If I change menu settings in a custom mode they are fixed only for that slot and if I go into a general mode like aperture they default back to what the last menu settings were for the regular modes).

Double check the manual and go through the steps again following the instructions, it might be you're missing out a step without realising
