Hello!
I'm new around here and my question is: How do I import .MOV files into Vegas Pro or After Effects?
Is there any recommended format I should convert my .mov files before I import them to a video editing program?

Second question is less related to the thread title.
Why do people use "flat" effect when capturing? Is it for some post editing purposes or just to keep the video in the "flat" effect as a composition or whatsoever?

Thank you for your time!

I used Vegas for two years, and don't remember any problems with importing .mov. Try using premiere, it's .mov based.

Videographers use "flat" footage because it's easier to color grade/correct.

EDIT: Try hitting Ctrl + I in AE. Use the browser panel in Vegas.
