In a B&W Kick Lately

With winter coming in I've been more interested in B&W lately.

Here's some recent ones, the last one is actually a B&W HDR rendition I've been trying to nail:

1 looks soft....i see no excitement in this photo at all
2 focused and sharp, kindda like it

Numbers 1 and 3 don't speak to me, but # 2 is different and beautiful.

the second is the best but i feel like the blacks could be darker.

I like the third one the best even though it does not have the typical black and white contrasty feel, looks like a "modern" b&w which fit the setting well. The second just seem overexposed to me...and I don't like ducks so I'm biased against them The first one...I see where you are trying to go with it but it's not my cup of tea.
