What DON'T you like about this?

For me, it's the layout. Too clean, too organized, to... boring. Not realistic. I have yet to perfect the "food-from-above" style shot, but I refuse to give up.

I'm annoyed that the vignette darkens the eggs and red pepper.

Stop using whatever this filter/processing is. I think it ruins every shot you use it on.
Is an intervention required here?

Out of curiosity, why do you want to shoot food from above? It's just not a natural angle from which to view food IMO.

I guess I want to show it from above. The classic "ingredients" image. But, I definitely didn't achieve it. I'll keep at it.

I think the biggest problem is my arrangement. It's definitely lacking. I like the lighting, but that's about all I like.

I also think finely dicing the ingredients makes it seem boring. I think the size of the pieces needs to be random and a bit larger.

I think you are onto something with questioning your composition of ingredients, piles are meh, it looks unintentional, my thoughts would be either go totally chaotic or perfect organization. Your image brought this thread to mind, perhaps it will help your thought process?

One thing that might help would be to have the light directly above the center so the intensity falls off towards the outside of the frame evenly and creates a natural vignette.
