I know the composition could use a little work. I am planning on reshooting this one but I love the finished effect.

Unfortunately not at this time. I was on the sidewalk at the foot of the steps. Directly behind me was the busiest street in the city lol. I might try a capture from across the street some other time but it is going to be tricky to avoid having cars in the shot

Good effect with bringing out the stonework. The angle of the sun creates a little imbalance to the photograph though.

Are the strairs crooked or is the picture? I see a full stair on the right, but only a tiny of that same stair on the left.

It's the picture, not the stairs. Like I said in the OP, the composition needs some fixing.

Mainly it was just trial and error in photomatix until I found the look I wanted. I did some minor adjustments in PS, bumped up the black just a hair, tweaked the levels.

I like the yellow colors reflecting onto the bricks. It makes it feel warm. Look forward to seeing a better shot of this building.
